EPIU Getafe. Hogares Saludables for the well-being of citizens.
EPIU Getafe. Hogares Saludables for the well-being of citizens.
EPIU Getafe. Hogares Saludables is an European project, part of the Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) programme of the European Commission, led by the Getafe City Council, which aims to identify and reduce energy poverty in the Getafe municipality, specifically in two of its neighbourhoods: La Alhóndiga and Las Margaritas, identified by the Regional Government as critical areas for urban regeneration and renewal.
This initiative was created with the aim of creating healthy homes for the well-being of citizens, through an Energy Poverty Intelligent Unit that identifies homes at risk of energy vulnerability, in order to offer tailor-made solutions.
The EPIU system has been developed in Getafe, although the aim of the project is that in the future it can be implemented in other municipalities in Spain and Europe, improving the quality of life and comfort of their neighbourhoods.
We also try to raise awareness among citizens about the negative climate, economic and medical impact caused by poor energy performance of their building. And we provide information about public services and possible actions that can be implemented.
